The summertime is when the big sport fish are out. Loreto is famous for Dorado (Mahi Mahi). Sometimes the sea looks green because its teaming with Dorado. The Summers are quite hot though, so be sure to bring extra water and sunscreen.

The fishing in Loreto during the winter is still amazing. Good chance you will catch some delicious Yellowtail (20 to 40 pounds are normal). In the winter, the weather is dictated by the wind. If its too windy, its too risky and unpleasant to be out in the sea.

Best fishing in the world? Yep, it's true. There are plenty of pangas available to take you out to the best fishing ever. There is usually a flat rate for a panga, which is maybe about $250 to $500 and can fit about 3-5 people. Better fishing boats and equipment usually means higher rates, but doesn't necessarily mean more fish.
